Total transfers Service Department to Norwich Office

Total announced today it has completed the transfer of its Service Department to a dedicated base in Norwich.

Since the acquisition of business and staff from RR Donnelley in May 2007, Total Postweigh International Ltd had operated two distinct Service-Desks: one in Alston, Cumbria and one in Norwich, Norfolk.

It was identified there would be significant benefits in centralising Service-Desk functions to our Norwich office. A plan was then put in place to carefully transfer service based functions currently held in Alston. As a result of the extra work transferring to Norwich, the need for a new member of staff was identified. The company successfully recruited a new member of staff, Simon Dorman, who joined the Norwich office on 3rd November 2008 – prior to the transfer of operations.

Using a single dedicated contact desk, inbound service requests can be received in Norwich by phone, fax or e-mail and via the web. The calls are logged and then allocated to either our `in-house’ engineers or to 3rd Party Service Partners. Calls are then closely monitored to ensure that all repair requests are progressed, attended and repaired within agreed timescales.

Customers use their existing service telephone numbers but are also able to use our Freephone Service Number 0800 620 620 to log their calls.

We pride ourselves in being distinct from typical `Call-Centres’ where operators have little idea of the customer’s requirement. Our Service-Desk staff has considerable knowledge of managing repairs and maintenance on office equipment –and In fact our team has an average of 10 years experience working in this industry.
