Total performs well in ISO 9001 Surveillance Audit

Total announced today it has achieved a positive report from NQA in its annual ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Surveillance Audit.

The surveillance audit, carried out annually by NQA, gave a positive recommendation for continuing registration. “No issues / concerns raised. A new Compliance Manager has demonstrated a good and realistic understanding of the Quality Management System. A positive result all round; a good visit.” (NQA Lead Assessor)

“Given the rapid growth of the company, we have worked together to ensure customer satisfaction is given highest priority,” says Bruce Lenton, Compliance Manager for Total. “I am very pleased with the result.”

Total first gained accreditation against the provisions of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 in April 2000, and since then has continued to perform well year on year. “Once again we have demonstrated our commitment to continual improvement,” says David Hymers, Managing Director of Total. “Our systems are under constant review, and the result of this audit shows we are achieving our goals.”

A change to the ISO 9001 standard is expected in October 2008, known as ISO 9001:2008, and Total plan to transition to the new standard over the next 12 months. “Our next audit will be based on the 2008 amendments to the standard, and we will be ready” says Bruce Lenton. “Our customers expect it, and we must put their needs first.”
