Total announces appointment of new Compliance Manager

Due to significant growth, and in anticipation of further strategic developments, Total has today appointed a new Compliance Manager based at its Company Headquarters in Alston, Cumbria.

Bruce Lenton brings experience from an engineering and safety background to this challenging new role, and will take responsibility for customer-focused and regulatory requirements including Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Total’s Environmental Policies.

As a responsible manufacturer, Total has obligations to comply with a wide range of regulations, such as the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives. The appointment of a new Compliance Manager will oversee the management of such regulations, and ensure customer requirements and sustainable product development can be met and in many cases exceeded.

Total’s Quality Assurance programme exists to ensure that the products and services provided to customers consistently meet or exceed their expectations. The appointment of a new Compliance Manager will ensure that as the Company grows and develops, the Quality programme is improved and evaluated to meet new customer requirements, and to ensure effective integration of new business strategies and opportunities.

The need to promote health and safety is as important as ever, and the appointment of a new Compliance Manager will ensure the effective communication, implementation and improvement of Company policies. Total wish to not only meet regulatory requirements, but demonstrate to both suppliers and customers the importance of good health and safety practice.

Bruce will also play a key role in ensuring the Company’s environmental objectives grow alongside changes to the Company, ensuring that the environmental impact of Total’s activities, products and services, are well managed. Total strives for continual improvement of environmental performance, and the appointment of a new Compliance Manager affirms this objective.
