New staff boost for Totalpost

Totalpost has invested in four new staff members to cope with an increasing demand for its specialist products and services.

Cumbria based Totalpost Services Plc, which offers complete mailroom solutions, has taken on three new staff at the Alston production department to meet the growing demand for recycled and refilled franking ink cartridges.

The company, which has 27 staff, has also doubled its manpower in IT communications with the appointment of 31-year-old Jamie Harrison.

Jamie, from Alston, will join IT director Will Wright in supporting the company’s ICT infrastructure across the centres in Warrington, Swindon and Cumbria.

Seb Weaver, 30, Nathan Frazer and Ross Thomson, both age 18, have joined the Alston production factory which has a brand new filling machine as part of a £60,000 investment.

Thanks to the new production staff, the company has doubled its cartridge filling capacity and hopes to increase Totalpost’s 10% share of the European franker ink cartridge market.

IT specialist Jamie, a qualified IT trainer, also heads and has authored the ICT element of Totalpost’s Business Continuity Strategy and procedures in the event of an emergency such as a catastrophic network failure, fire or flood.

Totalpost’s Managing Director David Hymers said:

“The company is going from strength to strength and these new appointments represent an upsurge in business from customers looking for a greener solution to their printing and franking needs.

“The appointment of Jamie is also a huge boost to the company’s ICT infrastructure as he will be supporting the internal helpdesk, working on customer related IT projects and will also play a part in the IT of the returned and gone away mail division.”

Compliance Manager Bruce Lenton, based at Alston, said:

“There are now five people in production with three new starters which shows real growth in demand within the sector.”

Totalpost is one of the UK’s biggest suppliers of refilled franker cartridges and sells well in excess of 250,000 to customers around the world.

Established in 2002, Totalpost offers a variety of other products and services including mailing machine sales and maintenance, mail sorting and opening, fulfilment, returned mail management, disaster recovery, document scanning and storage.
